V Festival OOTD & Photo Diary

I love a good festival and when the line up came out for V Fest I knew I wanted to be there! Due to lack of funds I couldn't justify the whole weekend but choosing which day to go was a little bit difficult but Justin Bieber trumped Rihanna so we chose the Sunday.

Now I haven't been to a festival in a good few years (I religiously went to Leeds Fest and it is still my favourite festival) and back in the day festival fashion was pretty much shorts, a tee and wellies, nothing special at all but festival fashion has since evolved and it's just as important to look good as deciding which artist to see on which stage.

I went for a pretty simple look and just layered up on the accessories to complete the look.  My mum actually picked this black slip dress up for me from M&S and was an absolute bargain, think it was like a fiver or something, it's a little bit longer so I cinched it up a little bit with a belt.  The lace frill detail at the moment is just so cute and just adds a little something to a plain black dress.  I layered with my khaki lightweight jacket that I've since re-discovered in my wardrobe and it was just the perfect extra layer.  Accessories wise I stuck to my good ol' faithfuls, a fedora, my Quay sunglasses and a neckerchief around my neck.  And it wouldn't be a festival without some fringing and your wellies, the weather was actually really lovely for the whole day until about 5pm and then it just continued to rain all night so I was glad I had my wellies on.

V Festival was a hell of a lot of fun, I went with my fave Zoe and I was so excited to sit in a field all day and chill out with some music.  Favourites of the day were definitely Bastille, along with Foxes and Zara Larsson but I couldn't leave out Bieber.  Yes he did mime most of the dancey songs as he was dancing along to them but when he grabbed his guitar and sang acoustic he was very good! I really enjoyed his performance even though I was slightly disappointed with the miming.  All in all, it was a fab day and I had the best time!

What do you like to wear to a festival? Did you go to V Fest?
