OOTD: A Day At The Races

Dress: Topshop // Shoes: Miss Selfridge // Clutch: Miss Selfridge
Necklace: Primark // Sunglasses: Quay Australia

What to wear to the races always proves a rather difficult task.  You know you are going to be on your feet all day so you want comfortable shoes, you need a dress that not only looks amazing but that again you are comfortable in for the whole day and then you need to decide whether wearing a fascinator or a hat completes the look.

I thought I had my outfit all complete, I was planning on wearing a lovely straight slightly pleated navy dress from Reiss (my dress for all occasions!) and I even purchased some new heels to wear with it but then in I walked to Topshop and spotted this off the shoulder dress and it all changed!

If you've been reading my blog for a little while you will know my obsession with anything off the shoulder, I just find them so flattering on me and I can't stop wearing them! This dress is in a gorgeous, unique lilac/grey colour that is perfect for Summer for a pastel look.  I visited the races during the hottest week so if I had worn my original dress I would 100% have been too hot so the floaty style of this dress was perfect for me as it ensured I felt cool throughout the day.

For accessories, I went for a pastel look to complete the outfit with my trusty Miss Selfridge nude block heels, nude clutch again from Miss Selfridge and a chunky pastel necklace which is an oldie from Primark.  The whole look just came together and I'm really happy with how it looked!

What do you think of this look?
