OOTD: The Little Mistress Pinafore Dress

Top: Topshop // Pinafore: Little Mistress* // Hat: Topshop // Boots: M&S
Handbag: Michael Kors // Scarf: Alexander McQueen // Necklace: Jewellery Box*

In my latest post I talked about how it felt almost Spring like and you would think that my blog and outfits would start turning more Spring-like and I would be prying myself away from all things black and monochrome, well think again pals.  Black will forever be my favourite colour to wear and this outfit is no exception.  Little Mistress recently got in touch as they are opening their new concessions within certain Debenhams, Liverpool being one of them, which is super super exciting! They kindly sent me this gorgeous black denim dungaree dress to style and as soon as it arrived I was in love!

I did previously have a pinafore dress from Primark which was featured in this post last year and although I loved it, it was just a little thin and short for me so I've been on the hunt for a new one ever since - as soon as I spotted this one from Little Mistress I knew it was perfect!

It's the perfect fit on me and also comes to a really flattering length.  I love the zip detail that goes right up the centre and the fact that it has pockets - perfect! The denim itself isn't at all thick so it isn't stiff which is what I was a little concerned about, in fact it is the complete opposite, it's a stretchy fabric so feels really comfortable.

I decided to style it in true HELLOTASHA fashion by styling it incredibly simply and relying on accessories to make the outfit stand out.  My grey top is from Topshop and it's such a basic to my wardrobe that I wear all the time, it's slightly cropped but not too cropped so it's still so wearable.  I love wearing my Alexander McQueen scarf and if I'm ever thinking that an outfit is lacking something I always throw this on and it just completes the look.

To brighten up the outfit I went with my burgundy boots which I absolutely love and defo do not wear as much as I should and in all honesty I'm not gonna be getting much wear out of them till Autumn so I wanted to feature them one last time before it becomes all sandals and sliders on here - OMG! I am TOO excited about wearing my sliders again, 100% my favourite shoes ever!

I really like this look, it's very much my style with the monochrome colour, just that pop of colour and reliant on accessories.  I feel very 'put together'! Let me know what you think of this outfit in the comments below as I love to hear from you!

ps. It's my birthday today! EEK!
