DIY Bunting Tutorial

I love bunting, I think it looks really cute and so much so that I wanted some in my room.  I didn't want to buy some as I couldn't find any patterns that I really loved or the colours were all wrong so decided to make some myself and it's super easy to do!

What do you need?

- Fabric (cotton is best)
- Stiffener (optional)
- Bias Binding

1. Make a template of your shape on paper, the traditional shape is a triangle but you can use any shape but there does need to be an edge that can be held by the bias binding.

2. Using the paper template, cut out how many triangles you need in your fabric.

3. Once you've cut out your triangles, you need to iron on the stiffener on the back side of the fabric.  Remember this stage is optional but I used it as I wanted my bunting to be quite stiff and flat against the wall.

4. Trim the edges of the stiffener to neaten it up.

5. Lay out the triangles in your chosen design.

6. Cut the bias binding to your desired length, making sure that it is longer at either end so you can attach it to the wall.

7. Place the bias binding over the edges, I completely folded the binding right over the edge to keep it in place. Then machine it and neaten off the edges.

8. Attach to wall.

See, 8 easy steps to cute bunting.  I'm very happy with how mine turned out.  Let me know in the comments if you give this a go as I'd love to see!
