RAINBOW BEACH

Although there isn't an awful lot to do in Rainbow Beach, I've had an amazing couple of days! On Thursday it was my best friends birthday so we went sea kayaking in search of dolphins. Sadly we didn't see any dolphins but we did see lots of stingrays and had a rather hilarious time. Becca and I were in one kayak and I did try to steer it but sometimes we came into abit of trouble and ended up in the trees, very very hilarious!
Friday was when the rest of our gang showed up so we had abit of a birthday celebration for Beth and played drinking games then ended up on the beach with a camp fire and singing along to a guitar, such an awesome night!
The weather has been amazing the past couple of days with bright blue skies and little cloud so we've managed to fit in a lot of sunbathing (tan is coming along rather nicely!) Every night our hostel runs a free walk to the sand dunes and to watch the sunset so we went a long and I'm so glad that we did as it was so beautiful! We walked for a while, getting to the point of are we ever going to get there, its hot and I don't want to walk anymore but it was so worth it in the end. We came out to a massive sand dune which led down to the ocean on one side and the town and views of Fraser Island on the other side. So beautiful! On the sand dune we were able to sand board but it was really quite steep and I got a little scared so didnt end up doing it. Then we walked over to watch the sunset although the cloud had started to come in so we didn't the best view but it was still amazing! I'm so glad that we decided to go because it was just so beautiful and a great way to spend an afternoon/evening.
We've booked onto our Fraser Island trip on Tuesday so until then were just chilling by the pool and topping up our tans! What a life!

  1. I'd love to be on a beach right now, rather than sitting in rainy Ireland!
